Student Self-Evaluation Form

Student's Name:    Taylor Kristyn Carter                                       Date: 12-01-12

Research Topic: Christian Ministry

Describe in detail your Graduation Project: I chose to write my paper on the components of successful youth missions trips and their ability to positively influence teen lives.  I held a benefit concert at Osborne Baptist Church featuring several local performers to raise money for a local teen mission group called Mount Carmel Cross Connection.

List three things you learned from working on this project:

1.  I learned how to plan a large event.

2. I learned how to advertise successfully in different formats for an event of large proportion.

3. I learned how to successfully plan a youth missions trip and the necessary components that must be present for teens to be impacted while writing my paper.

Did you encounter any problems while completing your project? How did you overcome them? I was very confused by the technical side of organizing the concert but I did lots of research and was soon well aware of the things that needed to be done.  I was faced with many problems when advertising for the concert as well.  I had to get used to explaining my project to strangers and talking to churches and businesses.

If you could start your project over, what would you do differently?  I would have started advertising for the concert sooner and on a larger scale.

What was your most valuable accomplishment while completing your project?  The amount of money raised for Mount Carmel Cross Connection was my most valuable accomplishment while completing my project.

What did you learn about yourself? I learned that I may only be one person, but with support and the help of others, I can make a substantial difference.  I have the ability to do things of great magnitude.
