My name is, Candice Corcoran and I’m the sophomore class president at Morehead High School. I also play the role as a sister, daughter, and a student-athlete. Although I play three sports soccer is my passion. When I’m not at school I’m usually training, working out, or playing. I’ve been basically all over the United States playing soccer, softball, or volleyball almost every weekend. I guess you could say I’m a big traveler. For some reason I have a passion for kids with special needs, I find kids with disabilities a gift from God. With our school starting to use computers this year its been a great addition getting canvas but at the same time its been very stressful. I wouldn't classify myself as a nerd but I’m a hard worker who makes the grades i need to get into a good school in the future. A’s and B’s are nice and all but the SAT and ACT really scare me. I have a tutor to help prepare me for all the big tests I have to take to get into colleges and shes fantastic, much credit to her. I can listen to almost any type of music depending on what type of mood I’m in. This past year my family was a host family for a foreign exchange student from Denmark its been an adventure. Other than tornadoes my biggest fear would have to be failure. I would much rather text you then call you, I don't handle confirmation well but if you make me mad enough I have no problem confronting you on a problem. My mother is the executive director of EC kids in rockingham county and my father is the city manager of Eden. They both have their degree in docket and are very hard working. Both of my siblings are student-athletes as well and are in college to become nurses, I guess you could say I carry all the pressure on my shoulders to follow in their footsteps.Everyone says they would love being the baby of a family but I don't find it all that great. Yeah it has Its ups but theres also plenty of downs. Sports are honestly my one get away from all this stress I carry. I find mentors through my coaches and my players become my best friends. I don't live your average teenage life that consists of hanging out with friends every weekend and going to the movies. At age 16 most teenagers have no clue what they want to do for the rest of their lives or even where they want to go to school after high school. After high school I plan on attending a D1 school to play college level soccer and go into the medical field to become a athletic trainer or a physical therapist. To you I probably have a life that sounds really boring and all but its not.Although soccer is my life, my high school softball team is very good. almost the best in the state. We should win states this year. I’m also a member of Key club DECA here at school. My family loves traveling, mainly out of the country. I hope someone finds the cure to cancer really soon, too many people lose loved ones because of it. Almost everywhere I go I take pictures, I love photography, we have the best teacher in the world. I can't wait to learn more from this project and collaborate with you guys.
